In 1953 Clark Gable remade his iconic Pre-Code “Red Dust” which he starred alongside Jean Harlow and Mary Astor, Ava Gardner would be cast in the Harlow role and Grace Kelly would be cast in the Mary Astor role, Both Red Dust and Mogambo were tremendous successes critically and at the box office, Both actresses earned Oscar nominations for their work on the picture, Kelly winning a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress.
